On a sunny day I planned to visit Delhi-6 with my always hungry friends :P
So after the not-so-tiring walk at the red fort we entered the legendary Karim s situated in Jama Masjid. The place had a lot of offerings in Chicken and Mutton.
The Mutton Seekh Kebab was extremely tender and tasted superb. The Shami Kebab was equally good. The gravy items tasted amazing barring the fact that the cooking oil was used in excess which can be overlooked keeping in mind the traditional cooking recipe.
The staff was well versed with the items and in no time the order reached our table.
The place being traditional offered a great service and the experience was quite pleasant for me and all of my hungry mates .
If you like eating at a place with good music decent ambience hospitable staff this is not the place for you. Situated in a by lane of chandani chowk right in front of Jama masjid this place is for mutton lovers. Staff doesn t care much you would have to share your tables with strangers washroom!! would be better if you give it a miss. If you are just a by the way non-veg who likes butter chicken or chicken stew type stuff you will be disappointed. Mutton korma mutton seekh mutton rogan josh are the type of stuff you will surely relish. Biryani sheer maal is something you would like but phirni might disappoint you a bit. I had been there so many times that I have stopped counting. This is surely a place you should visit once for the sheer legacy of Karim s if not food. Good luck.
This is not a place for sophisticated diners looking for modern ambience. But if you are looking for old Delhi style meal in kind of old Delhi settings you may be do fine. This is an acceptable place to eat chicken and mutton dishes.

In 1913, Haji Karimuddin Established the Karim Hotel in Gali Kababian, Jama Masjid, Delhi saying, "I want to earn fame and money by serving the royal food to the common man". Allah has 99 names and Karim is one of them. It is because of this very name, Karim is growing day by day.
